Hello! We are SO excited that you are here. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for taking a moment to get to know us. We love you. We appreciate you. And we are excited to get to know you better through this adoption journey.

The best place to start is right at the beginning.

I (Lindsey) was sitting in one of my hardest classes in college. I was feeling overwhelmed and nervous. Listening to the teacher, I knew it was inevitable that I needed help. I looked around the room and then there he was, the tutor of my dreams! He had thick-rimmed glasses and beamed with confidence. Little did I know, I was bargaining for much more than an A in math.

Over the course of the semester, we realized that we had a lot more in common than we had originally thought. Love started to grow over math problems and training our class pet rat, Templeton. We built our relationship on a solid friendship and were married just after graduation.

We’ve always known adoption was meant to be part of our journey. Of all the travels and experiences we’ve embarked on together over the last decade, our greatest adventure has been having three beautiful children. The life we have built with our three kids is the most rewarding and fulfilling. We are thrilled at the prospect of growing our family through adoption and cannot wait to see where this road will take us.

I have always known that I wanted to adopt. When I was a girl, all my baby dolls were adopted, all my school-project life-plans included adoption, and whenever I encountered adoptive families, I just knew that would be my family one day.

When I look at my family and my life, I realize that it is a masterpiece, the most beautiful work of art. Although we are not perfect, it is perfection. But there is still a part of my heart that yearns for the possibility of one more member to our family.

I think that I am pretty simple, really. I love a lot of things. I love to travel, I love to explore, I love being outside and pedicures. I enjoy art and photography, I like to read and learn. But what I am most passionate about is my family. There is nothing that I love more than experiencing life through the eyes of my children. I find myself transfixed by them as they find awe in the normal, everyday life. To welcome another child into the somewhat chaotic, safe and nurturing, tight-knit circle that is our family would be finishing the last piece to our puzzle.

I was raised in the wilderness of Idaho where my nearest neighbor was over five miles away. As such, I became a wanderer, a builder, and a learner at an early age. I would spend my days reading or roaming around with a hammer on my belt trying to build forts and explore in the area around my house.

Today, I still love to explore. I’m always dreaming up a new outdoor adventure for the family or a new outdoor challenge for myself. I still love to build and am now focused on building relationships with my family. I also share my love of reading with my children through consistently reading them the best books. I can’t wait to share our family adventure with a new child.

Our home is a traditional-style house with five bedrooms and a generous backyard. It’s 10 years old and we love it. We even have a fun theater area and a playroom that has been dubbed “American Girl Doll World.” In summer, the kids spend every spare moment in the backyard climbing on the playground or playing in the playhouse that we built ourselves.

We live in a gorgeous town in the mountains of Utah. Our house is in a new neighborhood full of friends, but we also get to enjoy the small-town feel of having cows in a pasture in front of our house and a view of the mountains behind. Our town is unique because it is in the country but reasonably close to the convenience of city life. We’re able to snowshoe, hike, and bike with world-class trails and views within 10 minutes of our home, while still being able to hit up Target 30 minutes down the mountain. It really is the best of both worlds!

We have three beautiful children. Raegan (6) is a quick to learn, nurturing, and spunky girl who is always ready for adventure. Reese (3) is empathetic, creative, loving, and is known for running around giving compliments to everyone on the tiniest of details. Griffin (1) always has a mischievous grin, loves anything to do with dinosaurs, gives the best slobbery kisses, and is constantly on the move.

We also have a supportive and loving extended family. Grandparents are always taking the kids on pirate treasure hunts with handwritten clues, or going to a special “Grammy Camp” where only grandkids are allowed. When going on family trips or reunions, our children love running around non-stop with their 18 Aunts/Uncles and 43 1st cousins. We love our extended family and they’re a consistent and joyful part of our lives.

We are an adventure family! We love experiencing and doing. It seems like we are always trying to squeeze a quick get-away whenever we can!

Some of our favorite family traditions include:

  • Piling in the back of our car to share hot chocolate and watch the snow fall after we cut a fresh Christmas tree.
  • Welcoming spring in at the Hindu Festival of Colors by covering each other with neon-colored chalk (it takes days to wash out of all our nooks and crannies)!
  • Spending our summer days paddling around on the fresh mountain lake that is almost in our backyard.

Although traditions have their place, we strive to find new and exciting things to check off of our extensive bucket list each year. Last year we went with Lindsey’s side of the family to Boston and New York for one itinerary packed, cousins sleeping over, laughing until we cried week-long excursion. It’s always exciting when our family travels together!

Thank you so much for taking a closer look at our family. We want to make sure that you know how much we admire, love, and appreciate you regardless of your situation or choice. Thank you for considering adoption, it means the world to us.

Even though we don’t know each other yet, we can promise your child a family that loves them, a comfortable happy and healthy home, and a full and well-rounded life of adventure and memories. We can provide a life where this child can grow and become who they were meant to be.

We can’t wait to meet this beautiful child and hope that you will continue to be involved throughout their life. We hope our family can welcome and include you as much as you feel comfortable. However involved you want to be, we will make sure you will never be forgotten because you are the vital beginning of this child’s story.

As we dream about an addition to our family, we want to acknowledge the difficulty in this decision. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to wish you the very best for you and your baby along this journey.
